Just acquired this Hummer - not working. I put a new 9 volt in the transmitter. The light does come on. Are the batteries in the Hummer rechargeable? I guess I need a charger. How do I test the 7.2 volt batteries? Thanks..

Hi! Canadian neighbour here.
The Hummer does certainly require a rechargeable 7.2V battery. They usually come with a charger, or a new charger can be purchased from RadioShack (With a spare battery)
You can unplug the battery from the truck and use a multi-meter to measure the voltage on the battery.
You should be able to immediately tell if the battery is dead. (Considering the hummer does not move).
If the voltage on the battery still seems high, it should be enough to make the hummer at least pulse or do an attempted jerky forward motion.

Otherwise you may have a broken hummer.
Best of luck, let us know what you find out.
