Raspberry Pi is like small computer, . Raspberry pi can communicate with pc application via TCP/IP. that receive command from pc via Internet. it mean we can control any device via Raspberry

imagine if you will an over powered arduino with less pins for to communicate with hardware, but the ability to hook up several arduinos.
the major differences ar
arduino is made for robtics, pi is made as a computer(old school one)
arduino has up to 52 pins to connect motors and servo's pi has 16
arduino has 1 usb pi has 2 and hdmi and vga and sound and an ethernet port

can the pi run a robot, hell yeah.
what can you do with a pi? home automation, oscilloscope, voltmeter, camera, media centre, controller for your quadcopter etc. etc. etc.
what can't you do with your raspberry pi? eat it... while crunchy it tastes bad and the crusty cuts your gums open
