In an RC differentiator:

----------------C------------------|-----------
|
Vin R V
|
___________________________|________

we have:

C * d/dt (Vin-V) = V / R

--> RC * d/dt (Vin-V) = V

if:

dV/dt << dVin/dt

--> RC * dVin/dt = V

I have read that we have to choose RC small in order to assure that

dV/dt << dVin/dt

Why is dV/dt much smaller if RC is small enough?

Thank you in advance.
