That is probably because its being an old part series that's phased out of new designs.
Herewith . . .the full spec sheet on that unit . . . .followed by another reference of acceptable substitutions for it.
I just LOVE to use the Int Rect series . . .IRF1404 . . . . . . .BECAUSE ? . . . . . . they can be found for free in the
Milwaukee and Black and Decker and De Walt series of electric drill Li Ion battery power packs.
There is a set of two of them mounted on a cast alum heat sink .
One of them is being used as a HIGH current capability electronic switch / over current cut out, used to series connect to the battery while the other one is used to totally disconnect from the battery when it declines down into the max discharged level .
FACTOID / TRUISM . . . .
THAT IS WHY SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE WITH THESE TYPES OF ELECTRIC POWERED TOOLS . . . . . . .THEY ARE LEFT TO RUN DOWN INTO THAT DISCHARGED STATE AND THE CHARGER THEN ABSOLUTELY WONT RESPOND TO CHARGE THEM .
SO YOU HAVE TO GET ACCESS TO AND TRICKLE CHARGE THEM TO THEN GET UP TO ABOVE THAT CRITICAL STATE OF CHARGE THRESHOLD.
OR Delmer Pee Dumbnutts HAS BEEN KNOWN TO DC JUMPER THEM FOR A SHORT AND QUICK BRUTE FORCE CHARGE FROM A LIKE FULLY CHARGED BATTERY..
