It's been a while since a I accessed Reg Edwards wonderful programs.
In fact it was one computer ago!
I now run Win 7 X64, And they don't run on this system.

Any Ideas how I can make use of Reg's programs?
Mikek

I know others have suggested this, but I will jump in with a vote.

I am running Win7 Enterprise. It has XP Mode 1 available. I have run Reg
Edwards' program with it flawlessly.

Good luck,
John

I've been avoiding Win7, but I know it's in my future :-(

Does Win7 have "Compatibility Mode"?

...Jim Thompson

kinda-sorta. It is rather low grade and seems to be largely intended to
allow you to spread out your software upgrade dollars a bit. Not for
serious retro compatibility. Just get a hotter machine and use a VM.

You can still get ISA computers that run M$windows 95.
Then there's this, but I don't know if still valid because it doesn't
affect me:

That is common in most of the globe.
And ... drumroll please ... there's this:

Wow. Way too high a price. For example in Sacramento:

Similar small shops should be available in most larger metropolitan areas.

The Pro-version has a pretty good XP. You can run unsupported virtual
machines on the others. 16bit code will not run native which broke some
major product software installers. And you should probably bite the
bullet and get Win7 soon you are *really* not going to like Win8.

I reckon the new GUI looks like a cubist's bad acid trip. YMMV

It might make sense on a tablet, but on a screen and mouse I reckon the
user will end up throwing the mouse at the screen in sheer frustration.

I reckon all even numbered versions of 'Doze are usually defective.
Win7 has now been around long enough to have shaken down and be stable.

Whoa. Have you run the beta versions WIn8?

I posted a link to a package. You have to install that first.

Aha!. Missed that. Academic to me, since I don't have any flavor of
Windows.

The idea of using one OS, then having to resort to importing bits of
another, to get basic functionality, seems ludicrous.

Windows always seemed to me to lack basic tools.

Claro que si. You can even get ISA computers to run DOS. There is a
sizeable market for that in industry.

That is common in most of the globe.

That is one messy ad. Quote "MS Windows XP Home & Professional ..... $Call"

So how many Dollars is "Call"?

Yeah, it should not be a problem to buy an XP license even locally. I
just mentioned the one link because I bought a 3D CAD there. For $10.
