The small 'tin can' module is common for IR receivers, housing the sensor that often contains the pre-amp and signal conditioning circuitry (but not always).

Follow the wire that comes from that tin can and show a picture of the circuit board that it connects to.

Hi Kelly,
I have tried to find the three pin male connector but could not found it. As I have posted a picture in last message, which shows three pin connector below 'tin can'. And it was not connected to any board when I have opened the tv set to take the picture.
What to do know ?

Are there three pins coming out of the 'tin box' that will connect to the 3-pin socket seen in the picture?

Show more pictures. Different angles etc.

Yes.
But the socket cannot be seen. I think the original IR module is not there, someone replaced it. It should be in T shaped hole of second picture.
I have tried the datasheets, and could not find for ic DN822.
May be you now can guess and guide for the pair of remote control chips.

ok please clarify ….
Does the 3 wire socket seen in this pic

IMG_20180616_174826.jpg

= the other end of the cable from this socket ?

IMG_20180616_180852.jpg

and are you absolutely sure that this socket is actually physically connected to the silver box ??
it looks like it is just sitting there … what are those 3 black bits sticking up in front of the socket ??

Hi davenn,
Your description is correct.
3 wire socket is physically soldered with silver box pins. And 3 wire socket was not connected to any board when i have opened the tv set.

So what to do now?

Hi Kelly,
After viewing pictures can guide for the pair of remote control chips? And also further procedure to complete the task. Waiting for your message.

You will have to show pictures of all the boards for us to determine if remote control circuitry is in that set.

Hi Kelly,
Pictures are uploaded. Can you manage to get the circuit diagram of this tv model from your 'links'? That would be the easy and authentic way.
Thanks in advance.

There are no IC's on any of those boards that correspond to remote control circuitry.

We're getting no where.....

1. Remount the tuner module where it belongs

Remount modules.png

2. Compare it's position with your drawing showing the component locations:

Parts.png
3. Try to identify where the remote control receiver module SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

4. Where does the other end of this three-pin connector go to? In your opinion, would it have connected to the (missing?) remote control module? Show a close-up picture of the WHOLE BOARD that the other end of this connector goes to.

5. There are boards marked as F, G, H, T, U and W - can you identify them? (do they even exist?)

Hi Kelly,
Your suggestions are valuable, but without the circuit diagram of this tv model we cannot solve this issue. In my opinion orignal IR module is missing, I have already uploaded the picture where the ir module should reside. I have again uploaded it here in this message. You can see a 'T' shape empty hole above red led where the ir module should be with two screws. But it is not there. IT IS MISSING. (I think so).
Therefore schematic/circuit diagram is necessary.
So can you arrange diagram? I mean can you download or ask someone to send?

I know the IR module is missing but the IR module must connect to some other circuit boards in order to interface with the various functions the remote control offers i.e. volume, channel change, brilliance etc......

Without 'knowing' the set I can't even say WHAT functions the IR remote offered..... was it JUST channel change? or did it incorporate volume control? etc.

Which is why I questioned the (potentially) missing circuit boards F, G, H, T, U and W. It would appear that these are 'missing' too in which case you will never establish remote control of the set.

Hi Kelly,
I will check those boards and update here.
But my question about diagram is still there, So can you arrange diagram? I mean can you download or ask someone to send?

All my sources have been depleted - the only information I got was as per the previous posts. You might find some more specific responses on a dedicated TV repair site.
