I have a metal detector I have had since I was a kid. I am trying to get it working again. It has a capacitor in it I need to replace. From what I have found on it, it is a .04uF. The code on it is 403. Can I replace this with a .047uF capacitor, or is there another value I can use? Thanks for any help.

I'd say it's close enough to at least try... but can you give us some pictures or insight into what it's connected to?

For the one on the bottom I would most certainly say go for it.
For the one on the top, I need to sit down and stare at it more to see what it's change may be. It may end up changing the indicated waveform too much.
