Hello
I have a computer multimedia speaker which has a defective cable.I cut the cable in between and joined with a new cable.
The problem comes comes within the joining process. When I join the cables by twisting the cables around the intensity of the sound output fluctuates even when the connections are tight. When I change the shape of the joint or if I press at the joints, sound fluctuates.I also tried with a soldered joint but nothing happened. Also, my audio output jack has 4 cables to be joined with 3 wires of the speaker.

Please Help

I recommend you replace the whole cable. You can buy a length of twin screened audio cable and solder a plug onto the end, or you can buy a headphone extension lead with the plug already attached, cut the socket off the other end, and connect it into the speakers. Make sure you duplicate the original strain relief at the speaker end.

This also gives you the opportunity to lengthen or shorten the cable to suit your needs.
