Have a part on a display / control board from industrial equipment, marked
with:

UCN 4815A

date code in 1984 and manufacturer icon of a stylized capital "A" (very fat,
almost just a triangle). DIP-22 package.

The only other "UCN" part number I can find is a UCN5800 series:

http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheet/allegromicrosystems/5800.pdf

Does anybody know what the 4815 is, who the manufacturer is (or was), and --
hope against hope -- a datasheet?

And -- depending on the test results -- possibly a replacement part.

Thanks.

That's an Allegro chip. Mauser has them.

Amazon?!! Whowuddathunk? And $58?!!

I just found out that a local surplus shop says they have these. I'll go see
tomorrow. $3.00.

Thanks.
Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that you should buy from them just to show
they were still around.

You may try your luck here:
<https://ia600804.us.archive.org/5/items/Sprague1984DataBook/Sprague1984.pdf>

Seems to be from a family of devices for VF display driving.

On parent page <https://ia600804.us.archive.org/5/items/Sprague1984DataBook/>
you will find the book in other formats.
These may be easier for text searching.

Cheers!
