Anyone know of a way to reduce varying voltage. I have a device that produces a voltage that may be 8 volts or 9 volts or 12 volts. Lets say hypothetically I need to reduce this to 2 volts every time the voltage is produced. Anyway of doing this with a limited amount of space in a circuit? Is there any special resistor for this? I don't have a particular need for this yet, was just wondering how this could be done. Thank you in advance.

It would be nice to see your circuit.
With what little info you've supplied, I'm thinking you should be looking into zener diodes.

What about if the input voltage was between 15-30 volts and needed to be reduced to 2 volts with a high current output as well?

then no as most zeners are low current less than a couple of amps

how about fully describing your project and what you are trying to do
