They have been working on this for 10 years. It has taken them at
least one year to go from one small step to another. It may take
them another 10 or 20 years before this gets out of the lab, if
it ever does.

I'm not holding my breath. There are so many 'almost' breakthroughs
out there in the science world that it's easy to lose sight of the
fact that it may be years, decades, generations or even never, before
they become reality.
