I need to get a RF Modulator for my dvd player and have seen them
selling between $10 to $40 and wanted to know if it matters what I get
or if I'll notice poor video/audio quality from the less expensive
ones?

Thanks,
Chris

Radio Shack 15-1214 for $29.99

Perhaps you could pick one up and try it and then return it if it's not to
your liking?

The biggest problem as you get cheaper is that they tend to
"splatter" the signal. Instead of seeing the image on
say, just channel 28, you'll be able to see vestiges of it
all the way from 25 to 31.

This may or may not matter, depending on how tight a "blank"
area you're trying to squeeze into.

I came across another post that said you could plug the dvd player
into the back of the vcr, works as an rf modulator. But the post was
a few years old so am not sure if this is do able.

That's what I do.

I bought one of those last Christmas for one of the kids and it works
great.
