Hello everyone, i hope you are all doing good !
I have question that will probably sound strange to you.
A few years ago i made a circuit with a microcontroller that reads RS422/485 serial data passing through an RS485 to UART transceiver chip (in receiver mode) and an other circuit that reads RS232 serial data passing through an RS232 to UART transceiver (also in receiver mode).
I would like to make a single circuit that does all the above so i dont need a different circuit every time i want to switch between theese protocols. Ofcource i do not use RS232 and RS422/485 at the same time but only one at a time depending on what my source is. On a DB9 connector i can have 2 dedicated pins for the rs232/input and 2 dedicated pins for the rs422/485 input. I have searched the net but got confused.
Is there such chip that can read one protocol at a time and pass it to a single UART output without the need of jumpers/switches or mcu pulling a selection line high or low ? Or could i use a combination of chips the same way ?

Thank you !
