For a precision circuit you would use series and parallel connected resistors to arrive at the "exact" value. But bear in mind your application: a visual display of the spectrum of an audio signal. Nobody, absolutely nobody will notice when your filters are off the "exact" parametes by a few %.there are some arbitrary numbers do I just round them to the nearest whole number of resistor that is in the kit of resistors or sholud I mix the values to arrive at the correct values??? intuition tells me to mix!
Nice one thank you it's coming together, slowly slowly! For a precision circuit you would use series and parallel connected resistors to arrive at the "exact" value. But bear in mind your application: a visual display of the spectrum of an audio signal. Nobody, absolutely nobody will notice when your filters are off the "exact" parametes by a few %.
Also bear in mind that you use 5 % capacitors. These will contribute much more error than your 1 % resistors.
Long story short: round the values to the next in the E96 series.
What's that got to do with this thread?I want a watt meter any good ones tthat you guys know of to add to my toolbox?
