Hi all,

I am looking for device to interface 4 wired Pt100 on side and and I2C output on the other side (only one I2C o/p is enough). Our limitations are with smaller footprint. We have 3.3V,5V and 12V power supplies to power the device.

Currently I am working with the universal transducer interface device http://www.smartec-sensors.com/en/products/uti-interface-en.html

Has anyone used something like this for a project?

Thanks

Sn

Welcome to EP.

Sorry, I haven't.

Maxim offers an RTD-to-SPI chip, the MAX31865. It's not I²C but you may be able to handle it anyway. It is suitable for 3.3 V operation, but can handle only one RTD per chip (TQFN 5mm x 5mm).

The AD771 can be harnessed for the same purpose. It also handles only one RTD and is available in a larger SOIC package.

Both chips may be useable with more than one RTD by adding external multiplexer circuits.
