And the graffiti sprayers will soon "adapt".

Yep. What we need are smarter newsreader software that can read ALL
headers and discard by routing.

Look into Hamster. Or if your using a Windoze OS earlier than W2K, NFilter.

Most floods are mass posted and hence, can be mass deleted as an entire
block without getting too many valid posts in err.

The client doesn't matter. There is filter software out there that
will let you filter on ANY aspect of a post's headers, or even on
content.

I will let you know what it is after I talk to the dude again.

NFliter is the one I was thinking of. It is very diverse in what it
allows one to select as criteria to filter on.

Funny that a Usenet abusive twit like you is giving proper advice.

How are those multiple personalities working out for you, asshole?

If you view new posts in chrono form instead of by thread.

If you think making about ten mouse clics is all that hard, you are
too lazy for usenet anyway.

The fact is, even if you pick specific net paths with NFilter or they
like, the retarded bastards pick a different open port victim each time,
and your problems start all over again. Best thing is to wait till they
get done having their fart session, and then block en mass, the CRAP
they posted en mass. It really is that simple. They are too pussified
to space out their posts as that would lead to the source being
traceable at some point, and take up even more of the retard culprit's
time.

Use your brain. Did you not notice that they were all posted through
two different ISP's through some unsuspecting victim's open port?

If YOU can see that pattern, a filter app certainly can.

All I was saying is that there are filters that CAN filter on content,
so if you wanted the jihad thread or any thread with "jihad" in it or
"nazi" in it, etc., you could easily set it up to do so. Most of them
get set up to filter on header content info.

wel when your reaer download the header, sort alphabetical andonly keep
those with SED in the first 3 positions. this is used in other groups
with some ease in sorting the wheat from the chaff.

marc

Then all the crap will start with "SED_" :-(

Wrong again prongioe. Keep trying.

I think he means by the Path: header.

slrn is capable, dunno if it's available for windows though.

eg:
[*]
Score: =-9999
Expires: 5/4/2007
Path: \!news\.suddenlink\.net\!not-for-mail

<technical>
slrn uses _xhdr_ to ask for headers that arent provided as part of the _overview_.
So any message header can be used for filtering, without downloading the
entire headers or entire message.
</technical>

Bye.

The X--Complaints-To: field was the same in the few flood
posts I looked at. Unfortunately, my newsreader (pan)
doesn't filter on that field.

slrn will filter (regex filter) on any header line you'd have to
learn a new user-interface though :(

Bye.
