So? "Reid is a witless opportunist", i.e. he's a successful politician.

Whycome that blog didn't have all the stupid things that Republicans do
and say, eh? Maybe it's because the blogger is an opportunist, possibly
witless, too?

Do you need to implement control loops in software?
"Applied Control Theory for Embedded Systems" gives you just what it says.

So? "Reid is a witless opportunist", i.e. he's a successful politician.

It's sad when someone defends duplicitous stupidity by claming
everyone else does it but it's even sadder when it's called the
'definition' of 'successful'.
Whycome that blog didn't have all the stupid things that Republicans do
and say, eh? Maybe it's because the blogger is an opportunist, possibly
witless, too?

And then there's the more obvious possibility that a blog written on
Tuesday, October 23, 2007 is about stupid things said on Tuesday,
October 23, 2007.

Hilarious coming from Reagan of all people. To give credit where it's due
however, Reagan didn't do too much harm.

Politicians of ALL persuasions are unreliable. It's not unique to any variety.

Right wing politicians are against what they call socialised medicine
- and to the extent that they succeed in cutting back on health care
for the indigent, they damage public health.

http://content.healthaffairs.org/cgi/reprint/21/6/31.pdf

Reagan's administration cut back pulbic health expenditure by 25%, and
managed to reverse the steady improvement in U.S. public health for
the first time in around 100 years. US public health statisitcs didn't
go all that far backwards during his administration, but they did get
worse.

So far, ALL the fires are manmade: Malibu (the Canyon fire) and Agua
Dulce from downed power lines, and the Rancho Santiago fire was set
(confirmed).

Real-time aerial photos of the Magic / Stevenson Ranch fire--as it
started--showed a suspicious black circle directly adjacent to the
dirt service(?) road immediately west of Westridge Parkway, here:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...&ll=33.651208,-118.146973&spn=2.199313,4.4055

There being no fire anywhere near the vicinity at the time, I expect
that one will prove to be arson as well, and suspect that cause for
the Arrowhead and Running Springs fires too.

Time will tell.

Yep. There's even some (unconfirmed) rumors opining that Islamic
terrorists took the opportunity to join in. We'll have to wait and
see if they claim any responsibility... which typically is their
style.

It's just now come over the radio that the FBI has entered the scenes
investigating arson.

It's 72F in San Francisco. I can't stand it. I think I'll set
something on fire, a nice salmon steak, maybe.

Speaking of heat, has anybody ever heatsinked an SO-8 opamp from the
top side? Seems like some decent theta reduction might happen if we
epoxy a heatsink to the top. We're running a National LM7372 power-pad
part at about 70C, and it drops to about 60 when we push a big steel
machine bolt head against the top, with some silicone goop. Looks
promising.

So we need a pagoda-type heatsink with a flat, thick bottom.

Hmm--that link didn't zoom in on Westridge Parkway as I expected.
This is it:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...&ll=33.651208,-118.146973&spn=2.199313,4.4055

The fire started off the north end, where Westridge Pkwy dead-ends.

The latest update on the LA Times interactive Google map (previously
linked) says it was accidentally started by welders. That may be
true, but there sure weren't any welders in the vicinity when I first
saw it, tiny, and within roughly 5 minutes of its starting.

Maybe 'global warming' affected their judgement, then 'local warming'
sent 'em packing?

Cheers,
James

I doubt it's 'Sama's boys. It's possible, but they're kind of busy
ducking just now.

Besides, they're pathetic--there's a lot of stuff they could do if
they had the moxie. The amazing thing is that we let them provoke us
so.

Cheers,

One of the semi-houses is offering top-and-bottom thermal paths...

Ah, here it is, Vishay's PolarPAK MOSFETs: http://www.vishay.com/mosfets/polarpack-list/

3.4deg C/W, and 1.2 deg C/W through the top. (http://www.vishay.com/

Successful at politics, much like success at thievery. If you go and
steal someone's money, and get away with it, that sounds pretty
damn succesful to me, for a politician or other thief.! ;-)

Cheers!
