I have an ra-1140 with a dead channel, speakers & wires fine just no sound even when I turn the
pot to just that channel (left) right channel works fine. How to fix? thanks.

There are some advantages in having only 1/2 a stereo working - the other half of a dud stereo is a DUPLICATE of the working half! You can make comparisons (voltage checks) using a test meter and there is a recognised procedure for doing this.

Find the service manual (online) and upload the schematic. We'll help you from there.
