Hey everyone,

I'm brand new to the site, but based on the good feedback/comments on other people's threads, I think I'm in the right place. I'm an inventor at heart and have a new project working on; it's a game where I need to be able to give each participant on the team (only two teams in the game) a transmitter to wear (perhaps on their wrist) so when the main device is passes to them, it can tell which team is holding it and notify others by changing color (led). Basically a way to indicate possession during the game.

So I'm thinking that I need to transmit a signal from a person (wearing it on their wrist or even finger as a ring), either passively (RFid?) or actively (FM, AM or something else) to a receiver on the device. The signal only needs to be binary, very basic. I am trying to keep it to keep it as low power as possible as it'll need to be very light weight. The signal would only need to be transmitted about 6 inches or so, maybe 12 at the most.

Can anyone suggest which path I should go down?
