i am building a battery charger of 13.8 DC volt output from and im using a diode to protect the regulator but now i was told that if you use a diode it will consume 0.6 volt
woud this circuit still charge my 12 volt battery?

It probably will, up to ~13.2V

A lot depends on the circuit of the charger, the type of battery used and the charging scheme employed..

Go advanced, use the paperclip symbol to upload an atachment. Copy the link (URL of the attachment) from the upload box Use the "insert image" button (second row, 5th from right) and paste the link there. You can also paste links to images on other platforms (e.g. flickr), but make sure the pages you link to are publicly accessible.
