I have a project I'd like to run by everyone here to get some feedback on.

Originally I was asked to resolder a connection at the battery. Simple enough. I've managed it.

However the unit has a tack switch (?) that was working but now isn't. For whatever reason the tiny metal disk that flexes and temporarily opens a circuit(?) doesn't seem to want to click back to its starting position. It's like the metal disk has lost its memory.

So looking at it, seems tgateI can just simply desolder the switch and replace it. They seem fairly common - and I think I can find one here in the Philippines. I've posted pics of what seems to be the same type of switch and the pcb with the disassembled switch.

Is there anything I should be aware of. Am I on the right track here?

PS. I was hoping for an inline image instead of a link. Not sure what's best for that in this forum or if it's possible. I've used Instagram but I can set up whatever easiest here. Insight appreciated.
