Hey people,

Anybody know whys SSRs cost so much? I only use Digi-key to get my parts;
and if you compare the cost of a standard electro-mechanical relay with a
similar current rated SSR, the SSR costs way way more.
I would love to use SSRs in my (personal) circuits but I don't just because
of the cost difference.

Any thoughts?

If you don't need a lot of them, I've seen several on ebay. Even sold a
few....Paul

A few benefits to the SSR types.. no arcing, excellent isolation, and they
don't wear out (not to say that they don't fail).
