Sony Betamax capacitor identification

I have a Sony SL-2400 Betamax player That I am working on fixing. A capacitor blew and I can't find any info on it.

Its a blue cap with a sliver band next to the numbers 10 and 16.

It is C22 in the picture of the board. Thanks for any help.

Time to downsize that picture... Here is a cropped down version...

It appears to be a 10uF 16 Volt tantalum capacitor... Mind the polarity marking as well, aka the band... Also note that one of a higher voltage rating is fine, for example a 10uF 35 Volt if for some reason your supplier does not have the common 16V one on hand...

And last but not least, what is the 'appeal' of using 30 year old Betamax? I know it was superior to VHS at the time, but by today's standards it's just horrible...

Thanks for the info and the crop. I'm posting all from my phone at the moment.

As for the why. Its a matter of having a working one. I like having the ability to play many formats, no matter how esoteric.

Seems a fair enough reason... Good luck with the repair if that is the only fault it should be cheap, quick and easy...

Don't tell anybody, but I've got three Betamax recorders I keep functioning, ...
you know, just in case.
I too hope it's just your cap. If I was you,l I'd trace the circuit back, just in case
something else failed, to blow the cap.
