Sony KV-2790R-What Causes Green Color?

I have a Sony KV-2790R that the green color is dominating the picture.

What causes this in a Sony?

And can this be adjusted internally. (The adjustments on the front
panel do not correct the problem)

Thanks

Not in any order
a) The CRT is aging and the RED gun is failing

b) Components aging out of tollerence, it can't be corrected without
replacing the affected components.

On your model of set, a failing CRT is the general cause of your
observation. It is possible that some failed components on the CRT board, or
the main board is the cause, but this is rare in the case that you are
describing.

The best approach for you is to take your set in for an estimate to find out
if your set is feasible to service. Considering if the set is older than
about 4 to 5 years, I would retire it, and get a new set.

You can temporarily compensate for weak red and blue crt emission by
increasing the SCREEN voltage for the red and blue guns. The screen
controls may be a back panel adjustment, or they may be inside the set.
You need to adjust them with a black and white picture displayed to
get the best white+gray balance. You may also have to increase the red
and blue DRIVE controls. If you have enough brightness with the
brightness control at maximum, you can also turn down the green screen
control and the green drive control a little. But, once the CRT is
going, adjusting the screen and/or the drive controls is a temporary
fix and you should start saving pennies or larger coins to buy a new
set.

Does anyone ever rejuvinate the picture tubes anymore? I have had pretty
good success with some tubes, Get a little more life out of them.

I haven't been in the business for a few years, but even with Sony
CRT's, I squeezed months to years by blowing away G1 shorts, using the
Sencore whatever's light cycle to dust the cathode a bit, and also
rolling my own filament winding to a slightly higher voltage when
necessary.

When one colour dominates, I usually would adjust that colour down
first, rather than the other two, if the contrast, brightness, etc.,
could accomodate and still provide a good picture.
