I have a device powered by 6 AAA cells and for the second year in a row one of the cells leaked. I caught this one in time, the device still works but there is some corrosion and liquid on the battery contacts and the edge of the PCB. Is there a spray you recommend that I can douse this with, let it run off and dry, to clean the corrosion and prevent it from doing any damage?

thanks,

Rob

See here.

Note that it is far better if you can ensure that the chemicals don't get into the electronics as they can cause as much damage as the corrosion.

Sir Rob . . . . .

From WHAT I am seeing at top terminal, third from left, I am thinking that only a sharp tipped dental tool or scribe, used to laboriously scrape ALL of that hardened deteris completely off , down to bare metal again, will satisfactorily correct its current dismal condition.
Then any chemicals come into play.
