I figure this is a question asked a lot, and I looked for an FAQ but couldn't find one. So here's my question.
Can anyone recommend one or more different PV starter systems that can be expanded later to produce more power. I'd like to have something that can work along side the grid.

Hi there,
I'm no solar pro by a long shot, but I've been messing with it for a few
months now. I bought into ICP's setup, they have the "Plug'n'Play" series of
panels and ear. It's all pretty straight forward, but the panels appear to cost
quite a bit more than the prices I'm seeing on others. Easy to slap together
though, which was important to me coming out of the gate. As for being grid-
tied, that would require another fairly expensive piece of hardware to send
your power back into the grid, plus there's all the interaction with your
power company to make it all legit. For me, it just seemed easier to funnel
the power into a small battery bank and mess around with that.

Hi Guys & Gals;

I also started whith panels from ICP Global, but since have tried a
few others (I am also just startng out), I started by wanting to power
my night light (yes, I said night light) without feeling guilty about
wasting energy. Unless you have bags of money, growing your sysem to
handle one task and then another is an educational and fun way to
learn about solar, at your own pace.

I only have 1, 75 amp hour battery, and for my needs that is fine
(for now). With 240 watts, it is usualy full by 10:30 AM, and on
rainy cloudy days, I have enough wattage that I still get a full
charge.
