Over a few years this 7 year old Vizio remote back cover has become sticky. I found on another post that using 70% to 90% or higher alcohol will remove that sticky, rubber coating without damaging the plastic. I used 70% alcohol and it worked!! ;-) GREAT and thanks to those that posted that solution.

I like to save the brown plastic bottles that my prescription medications come in, but removing the labels applied by the pharmacy usually leaves a tacky residue. I discovered by accident that WD40 will remove the residue but leave behind a film of its own. That WD40 residue can then be easily removed with 91% isopropyl alcohol. You can also use anhydrous or 99+% isopropyl alcohol, but it will begin to absorb water from the air as soon as you open the shipping container, so it's probably not worth the expense.
