Super Efficient LED's

I came across a story the other day about researchers making some LED's that are more than 100% efficient. The initial story didn't explain much about it and I thought that it was a hoax or something, looking deeper though I found this article that explains it.
I personally think that this is a good step forward, both with efficiency and power consumption. To find something that is more than 100% efficient (230% to be precise) that's pretty awesome.

I just thought you guys would appreciate this story, even with all the stagnation in new developments in the past few years there are still new things.

Yeah, in this case they exploited thermal energy from the environment and the experiment is only valid for extremely low powers.

true, but it's still impressive, you get a bank of these large enough and youll be creating light, cooling the air, and using a tiny amount of power, its a triple win.

Yes I understand that it would be difficult if not impossible, but a man can dream right?
