You're under the impression any of them are listening ?

Called mine and DC number busy. In town office went to a full voice mailbox.

They better listen.

Only a couple need to listen.
They actually do listen--really--but are they hearing from you? If
not, you can imagine to whom they're listening, and what they hear.
There's a TEA Party on Capitol Hill today. Last minute, since it's a
blitzkrieg vote, but there should be a few folks there, rallying and
visiting House members.
I went Nov. 5th--it was great. Lots of civil, smart people, concerned
about our government, full of good, positive ideas.
I'd be at this one too, but heard too late to make it. (That's the
advantage of cramming secret bills through at the last minute: like
blitzkrieg, no one can defend it).

What do you mean? You had three days to read 2700 pages!
If you read 8 hrs per day, that's only 115 pages per hour.
Of course that doesn't leave any time for analysis and number
crunching.
Hey, Have you noticed if Bret at Foxnews has interviewed any
arrogant bastards lately?

Good. I'm voicing my outrage at YOU.

Go ahead, but I don't have the power to force you to buy the insurance I
specify, I don't have the power to fine you if you don't.
I don't have the power to tax you.
I gave you 30 people that do.

Lovely give-and-take from the one who promised us that, isn't it? A
deliberative process where everyone gets heard, everyone can
participate?

Instead, they cram it through. No discussion. Lovely consensus
building.

Passage after passage of the bill is just absolutely gawdawful. A
giant bowl of buggy, undebuggable spaghetti code, a Big Bang of
unintended consequences. But will I or anyone else ever get to beg
for an explanation, to discuss it, or to suggest something better?
You know, a 'change'? Nope.

Sorry, I don't get Fox, but I can only imagine.

That's neat, but it doesn't match what's on TV, (at the moment).
It has two feeds, the second is the Brian and the Judge Napolitano on the
Radio. I put it in my favorites.
Hmm, just went back to see the other feed, I think it's over, so the feed
is gone.
Thanks, Mike

AMDX: can I ask you what type of work you do and for who you are working
for????
be sweet and kind please let us know and how old are you I am 72 in may!
I'm generally sweet and kind, but I believe in free enterprise. If you
don't do it for
yourself why should I?
I'm self employed with a small retail shrimp outlet. (sometimes I feel I
work for my wife:)
I'm 55 and I figure I'll get screwed by SS. At 72 you have probably already
collected
all the money you ever paid into the program.
Is that correct?
BTW when you started paying SS you paid 4.5%, today the rate is 12.4%
Also the cap was $4200 or $30,800 in todays dollar, today the cap is
$106,800.
That calculates out to over a 9 times increase in the rate since you started
paying.
That not a double or triple but a nine times multiple. That's a frog in the
pot on the stove, but it's getting fucking hot.
I'll never be a member of AARP because their theory is screw the young give
it to the old. Nice idea but it can't last.
Now, yes I think there should be some healthcare reform, but 2700 pages
that
you had to read in three days, that could only be passed by giving tax
payers money
away in special favors to buy votes.
Ok did I hit any particular spot?
Mike, still generally sweet and kind, but pissed
off.
I see too many people not taking care of their dollars cause they can get
mine.
BTW I have people asking me "do you take food stamps",
"**** no I don't take food stamps, you can get your protein at the
supermarket for $2lb, by the time you dress out this shrimp it's $9 to
$13lb. Quit wasting taxpayer money." [that's in the bubble over my head]
PS. they ask this with no shame.

Is that a wife joke? I once worked at a place where the supervisor made

Well Jim, I didn't want to embarrass him by suggesting he seems to be know
an awful
lot about feminine odor control, you have to wonder about his partner when
feminine odor is the first thing he brings up. I hear guys talk about fish,
but I don't know anything about that, I'm married to an asian, asians have
no odor. Don't believe it, test my theory*.
I was willing to just go with it in an effort to let my topic possibly
