Any ideas on how to tag video cables and the like, so that I can at least
identify what equipment they belong to--camcorder, video camera, digital
camera, ... or what they are for--USB, serial, null, parallel printer,
modem, ...?

You can get self-laminating cable labels from Brady or
Panduit that can be printed on an inkjet or laser printer.
These labels have a white printable section and a clear
plastic "tail" that wraps over the printed section for
protection.

*snip*

Different colors of electrical tape? If you use the cable for something
different, you can at least find one end on a device and trace the other
end.

Old computers are getting to be a lost art. Here at Uncreative Labs, we
still enjoy using the old computers. Sometimes we want to see how far a
particular system can go, other times we use a stock system to remind
ourselves of what we once had.
