I have a technics CH900e system that I love even though it is now old. The plastic mechanism that controls the opening and closing of the CD tray has broken. Electronically the whole system is still great. Does anybody still repair this equipment?
The system consists of 4 separates joined by a power strap. If I cannot repair the CD tray mechanism can I obtain a different CD player / Radio Tuner that will integrate to the system power strap? Ian

The "power straps" are propriety to each manufacture.
You may find something that is compatible from Technics,
best thing would be the same model(used).

It is possible to repair this,
but unless you do it yourself it isn't economical.

Care to try?
If so,Show a photo of
"The plastic mechanism that controls the opening and closing of the CD tray has broken.".

Can you substitute a DIY metal splint or replacement for the broken part?
Superglue repair possible?

Just a thought here. When I really want to repair something like this, I look for a scrap or cheap equivalent model and make one good one out of the two bad ones.
eBay or somewhere like that where you might find what you need.
