Hi, I'm writing from Italy and my english is not so good.
I have a problem with a TEK 2465, last version (without assial fan). I premise that I repaired this scope because a C (180 uF 40V) in the power supply was in short circuit and I also replaced some other electrolitic.
Now when I turn on the scope, A SWP in the trigger section flashing and + e - are illuminated. If I push A/B TRIG switch, the scope start on but I have some problem with the horizontal sweep. I cannot see the B sweep (delayed sweep) and beetween 20 uSec and 0,5 mSec the A sweep is not calibrated (tollerance about 12 %). I see a lot of dot in the readout values and if I try to start the calibration procedure but I must stop because I cannot see the intensified trace for B sweep.

If I do the test, become TEST 04 FAIL 11

Do you know this problem, what can I do ?

Kind regards. Stefano

New one on me.
Test 04 is for the EAROM, you can have errors:
X1 (Parity error on read (bit 0 set)
X8 (Bad read after write (bit 3 set) or
1X (Bad checksum (bit 4 set)
I've never seen a 11 Error on the Test 04.
Have no idea how to analyze it.
Try emailing Tektronix, and ask them.
Good Luck

Probably the scope needs a new calibration, but what could you say about the delay sweep which does not work.

Thanks. Steve

I'm shooting in the dark here. Test 04 IS for Calibration Data (on it's RAM). But I'd be looking at the Kernal Test, Buffer ROM U2160. 65536x 8 EPROM (Tekt 160-5370-04) I may be steering you in the wrong direction though. You're going to need repair, not just recalibration on your scope. Good luck if you intend to attempt further repairs yourself. Double check that none of your front panel switches are not sticking before you knock yourself out on this. If one is not releasing, it'll hold out your sweeps.

Thank you for the answers. It is not cheap to repair this scope, I think I am going to throw this out of the window...:D

Sorry, it's just difficult to give a definitive answer when not looking at it myself. It's a complicated scope, and it takes time to trace circuits and isolate problems. If you can get a manual, their troubleshooting section may be able to narrow down your specific problem for you. Good luck.
