Testing Operational Amplifiers

Hello everyone,
I have two components i would like to know how to test. Both are opamps and theoretically the same. 1st is an lm741h and the 2nd is an lm747h. Both are in metal can packages. How can i test them to verify that they work correctly?

Grab yourself a data sheet the 747h is a dual operational amplifier that means two in one package. If you can't find a data sheet I'll try for you. Below does not refer to metal cans op amps but the process is the same you need to know the pin outs. Good luck to you.

Testing a 741 IC
It is important to make sure that the op-amp which we have is working properly, before we proceed to further experiments. Here is a simple method to test a 741 IC, with the minimum components and circuit connection

The LM741 is a single opamp.
The LM747 is a dual opamp.

A quick and dirty way of gross test, use 2 9V batteries for supply, and drive
input with a 1V 1 Khz sinewave, with and without 1V offset, and verify input and
output are essentially identical for both cases. with and without offset.



Then use Bertus analog.com link for more extensive testing if needed.

The best way is the see the datasheet. You have to build an application circuit exactly as shown there and see if it behaves accordingly.
