I managed to access the service menus and found the following settings
for Drive and Bias.
FYI the outside numbers are the min. and max. limits, the number in the
middle is the setting itself.
RED DRV: 0 - 65 - 127
BLU DRV: 0 - 63 - 127
RED BIAS: 0 - 127 - 255
GRN BIAS: 0 - 147 - 255
BLU BIAS: 0 - 141 - 255
Some experimentation: Raising and lowering the DRV(drive) settings
doesn't effect the picture until you get near the upper or lower
limits. OTOH Bias produces very noticeable results even 5 points in
either direct. Cutting just the RED BIAS still leaves people a little
high fever. I even tried boosting the Green & Blue bias a couple of
clicks and turning down the User brightness a couple clicks. This
seemed to fix the problem - albeit slightly.
I have centered all my user settings(range 0 - 64, center=32) pending
any suggestions you guys may have. On the user side though, it should
be noted that raising the Brightness seems to eliminate the red push,
where as lowering it below midpoint seems to leave a very reddish
picture.
I would like any suggs. you may have on this.
**DISCLAIMER: I have had trouble getting replies from you folks on this
issue before and got no replies. If you are afraid of giving me the
wrong advice which leads to the destruction of my set then you have
some real issues! Get over it and start using the muscle upstairs. I
expect AT LEAST 5 good replies out of you people by Saturday afternoon
and enough of this legal crap.**
thanks,
