Touch pad on Microwave intermittant problem

The start pad will occasionally not work on a samsung microwave no matter
how hard you press it, then a day or 2 later it works ok. All other pads
work. Is there any way to repair this?

There is most likely a cold solder connection, or a component that is
mechanically intermittent, or a broken trace in the pad assembly, or at one
of its connectors. If the pad is sitting on another board beneath it, then
the problem may also be on that other board. The way that these are built
you may have to replace the complete pad assembly, or an associated board
assembly.

Had a similar issue on my boat microwave. The ribbon connector from the touch
pad to main PCB was the culprit. Unplugged it, cleaned it with aolcohol, been
working for 5 years.
