Transistor how much current is needed to activate them?

I did what you were talking about and you were 100% correct now its an instant ON and OFF awesome! Can't believe I got it to work with just adding one transistor and one diode to protect it, couldn't be any cheaper nor easier. Thank you so much for all your help everyone
