Two TDA1554 on one radiator??

Hello,

I want to put two TDA1554 amplifiers on one radiator. Can I do that?
I'm asking, because I don't know if the back metal plane of the integrated
circuit is connected to internal circuits, and if yes, there can be some
problems, when I place two TDA1554 on one radiator without isolation.

The datasheet doesn't specifically say anything about case connection, but it
doesn't say anything about electrical isolation of the case, either. Also, it
says pins 7 and 11 are connected to "power ground (substrate)". That almost
always means case/metal tab potential, unless stated otherwise. If you have a
TDA1554 handy, just ohm it out to be sure. If the case is power ground,
obviously you should be able to connect two on one heat sink (radiator). If
you want to be really cautious, wait 'till Monday and call your local Philips
rep.

Good luck.

I've done this, and the result is that only one pin (output pin) has 7kohm
resistance to metal tab.

And resistance between 7 or 11 pin to metal tab is about 100ohm, so how do
you think, can I put two ICs on one radiator??
