This is going to be a pretty damn broad post. I've been listening into WebSDR sites for a while now and they've piqued my interest in radio. And now I want to learn more. I'm wondering if anyone knows any good places to learn about radio transmissions. I kinda want to learn anything and everything.

Learning about "radio transmissions", or "radio transmission"?

I'd like to learn about the electronics behind it all. But If I can learn about what signals are transmitted and how they work that would be great to. So to answer you directly, both.

What is your current level of knowledge and experience with electronics?

Perhaps you can go the amateur radio route? Are the any amateur radio groups near you?

In the UK, the RSGB does courses for the radio examinations. The novice examination starts at the very beginning ans includes some practical skills.

I'm currently a first year electrical engineering student. I don't know a lot but I think I know my way around the basics. Perhaps I'll look into ametur radio groups.
