Hello,

I often see new members asking questions about how to add attachments and images to a post.
You can use the Upload a File button below the edit box to attach images and other types of files:

Buttons classic.png

In the new setup the buttons look like these:

Buttons new.png

Please keep the attachment size under 300K if possible.
Not all members do have high speed internet connection.
Some will have phone-in connections.
Some will have satellite connenctions.
Some will use their mobile-phone, with a limited data bundle.

@davenn , @bertus : We now have this thread 3 times as sticky post on the main page ( when looking for new posts).
Wouldn't it suffice to have it there once and to delete the other 2 threads?

@eerob, @eeadam : It would be even better to remove the current limit and replace it by a server side scaling if the upload is too big. By this server storage wouldn't be overloaded while optimizing "user experience" as it is called today.

Could the sticky also show a list of permissible file types (extensions)?

Hello,

In the dialog box this is shown:
All Supported Types (*.zip *.rar *.txt *.pdf *.png *.jpg *.jpeg *.jpe *.gif *.ino *.fzz *.asc *.sym *.csv)

In the dialog box, yes. Why not in the sticky text too?

Hi I'm trying to send photos to my post but they are between 1.5 and 2.5 mb is this why they won't upload? If so what can I do?
Simple answer would be appreciated (I'm not that bright )

As mentioned above: reduce the size to < 300 kB. Lots of software available to do so. Even the humble Paint utility program that comes with Windows can do that.
