I am getting a device from America that runs off a supplied wall wart. It's no doubt 12v or around that.
My question is, if I just get a USA 2pin to UK plug adapter, will this be sufficient? I wouldn't a step down converter?

Thanks

look on the walwart and see if it has a voltage range input pretty much all of them do these days and most of them will work from 110 - 240VAC
Again, CHECK its label

If the wall wart is lightweight and small then it does not have an old fashioned large and heavy low frequency transformer in it and instead it is a modern electronic circuit that uses a lightweight high frequency transformer. The modern ones work from a wide range of supply voltages.
