Hey all,

I don't know if I'm in the right forum, but if someone can just give me some guidance on this it would be greatly appreciated. I have a basic understanding of what I'm trying to do, but as you'll see below, I'm no electronics engineer!

OK, so what I'm trying to do is - make a USB cable with an initial 35sec delay each time the 5v power is supplied.

This is sequence i need the cable to do:

1- Supply 5v power to usb-a connector
2 - timer relay is initially in open state (no 5v power to load side)
3 - after 35 seconds timer closes relay and 5v power is sent to load
4 - 5v Power stays on until the supply is turned off

(the above cycle will be repeated over and and over)

I've found a small delay timer and I think it might be perfect for my needs? I just don't know for sure, and I'm also not sure of the correct wiring. If the AT41 relay is correct for the job, what would the correct wiring schematic please?

Please see diagrams for info, and let me know if you need any more explanation

Much thanks is advance anyone!

Julian

Plenty of delay timers on Ebay etc. with on or off delay from a few milliseconds up to hours and days, all selectable via a small LCD display and up down buttons.
Cheap-as, connot build for the price.
Select one with a 5V control so it can be powered via the USB.

One like this, might be adapted to work for you (to get more than 24s, you would need to increase the timing capacitor value).

From the advertiser's write-up for that AT41 timer, I don't think it will quite do what you want. Pins 5,6 can be jumpered to configure it to be initially ON until triggered, then OFF for a pre-set period, then back ON. It's that initial ON which you don't want. It's not known if it can be triggered simultaneously with power-up.

heya,

thanks for your responses. The best documentation i can find on the AT41 is here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33005791737.html

I was hoping you could set the AT41 to OFF initially , then ON after 35 secs delay. Just a simple delay before powering the load really.

If that AT41 isn't suitable, does anyone have any suggestions what might be? the load is 5v and no more than 1a
