Using Detuned AM/FM Radio as Spectrum Analyzer Input

Hello,

When you want to use a radio as preset for the spectrum analyser, you will waste the capabilities of the 1000 times more expensive spectrum analyser.
When you want to examine the surrounding signals, use an antenna and eventualy an amplifier, as mentioned in post #8.

I would like to use an inexpensive battery powered radio to capture and boost the entire AM/FM frequency band to display on a spectrum analyzer.

ummmm lets back up way back tot he start
doesnt you SA already cover those frequency bands ??
if so what is the purpose of what you are trying to achieve ??
