I bought a number of these lamps to use at my weekend cabin.

I liked these because they produce 450 lumens while consuming only 7
watts. My Solar Panel only produces 42 watts, so keeping consumption
low is important.

I am quite pleased with the light output. Some users claim these lamps
are closer to equivalent 60 watt incandescent lamps than 40 watt.

When I have the FM Radio on and any of the LED lamps are turned on, the
radio has considerable static.

I have not experienced this problem when I used the same lamps at home.
I think the problem at the cabin is related to the modified sine wave
inverter.

Anyone have any experience with these LED lamps?

Thanks

It would sound like the chopper in the LED lamps is reacting with the
chopper circuitry in your inverter.

I have problems with the five motion detector switches I have tried with LED
or CFL lamps used with my inverter /co-gen.
I have never scoped the waveforms, yet but some day **sigh**

You could try a filter or even a ferrite doughnut (bead) slid over the
circuit hot wire.

All LED lamps have choppers, and in low signal areas the emitted EMC
from them will get into a radio. In strong signal areas, the radio RF
gain will be turned down low enough you wont hear the EMC. As the FM
signal gets weaker, the radio turns up the RF gain to compensate, and
you start to hear the chopper noise.

Filters on the LED power feeds might help.
Consider a better RF aerial, preferably outside your cabin, well away
from the LEDs.
