Voltage rating for a breadboard

Hello,

I am looking into acquiring a breadboard for a project that requires
the use
of high voltages upto 500V. I could not find a voltage rating on a
breadboard.
A store owner that I spoke to mentioned that he had once heard of a
voltage rating of 300V. I looked at a breadboard on digikey.com and
they did not have a voltage rating either.

Do breadboards typically have voltage ratings? Is it safe to use upto
500V dc
with a breadboard over a long period of time?

I am new to this board and would welcome any advice.

they will handle 500Vs.
its the spacing that is the problem.
i use them all the time for first time
testing .

500 volts requires something in the 0.01 inch range to arc in
air. However, if 500 volt circuits are on a breadboard, then
minimum standard separation is 0.1 inches. Only from memory,
materials used in boards is not so important until we get into
the thousands of volt range.
