Does anyone have a chart for LED watts to actual watt usage..

I know that a 900watt LED lamp is around 385w in usage..

Does any one have a chart or could even explain how 900w can be 385w.. I thought a watt was a watt..

Hello. Watts is Watts. It energy used per second. Where did you get the two Watt figures from?

Do you mean the conversion ratio of input electrical power to useful light output power? See here. Scroll to led. Your light is apparently the theoretical maximum operating efficiency of LEDs! (~43%)

But this may not be what you are looking for.

I suspect the OP doesnt understand they are referring to the incandescent lamp compared to a LED

so ... the light output from a 385W LED lamp is equiv to a 900W incandescent lamp

same thing with compact fluoro's compared to incandescent lamps

so it's the equiv light output NOT power used

Has Dave said, that could be the issue, i must be missing something..

I have a friend who likes to smoke a bit of wacky backy (and it genuinely is a friend, i dont even drink alcohol, let alone smoke weed). After a few years of buying dodgy stuff from dealers, he decided to grow his own. (Only 2 plants). He's using CFL lamps at the moment but wants to go to LED to save on electricty (light and ventilation).

He shown me on the forum that whats advertised as a 900w LED lamp actually uses near 400watts in electric
