Hello, just a quick one,

Just trying to identify this component, it has 3 pins and black square casing like a FET

its labelled, "NE22
I(diode symbol)R9641
F1 C5"

Any idea? there was 4 of them on a heat dissipator so id imagine some sort of switching device or use as a bridge rectifier?

Thanks, Gary

You have to consider that maybe this part was remarked by an OEM process through IRF, this kind of marking doesn't match with those on the TO-220 off the shelf types, i couldn't find any IR?NE22 parts, with two numbers i can only remember of the IRFZ family, that has the full IRFZ writed.

More markings on: http://www.irf.com/package/pkhexfet.html

I(diode)R is the symbol for International Rectifier. 9641 is likely9641 then right? the rest of the part number.

I'd be looking for IR9641 then right? No. I'd be looking for IRF9641.

And if you do, you find this (amongst others)

edit: Zork may be right. An image of the device in question is always helpful. Is 9641 a date code or a part number? (It could be either)

Screwball, unfortunately the IRF company doesn't made IRF9641 mosfets, search on their website, they only did IRF9640 ones, the IRF9641 were made by samsung:

http://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/pdf/37065/SAMSUNG/IRF9641.html

I think that the 9641 is the date code, that can be of 4 numbers as on IRF's TO220 package descriptions, 96 stands for year 1996 and 41 for the week number.

Here are another easy ones:

The TO92 was made by Sid, but this part isn't on their transistor databook, neither this type of marking, the DIP part is another OEM.
On other IC that came with that, it's marked DELCO, it's the name of a company that make car products, many of their car modules has partnumbers (or maybe the entire device) customized.

You confused me more by saying IRF didnt make IRF9641 and samsung did, to me that means nothing

Is it or isnt it a MOSFET P channel id assume if its the one on the link you sent (samsung), a definitive answer should save alot of confusion

Thanks
