My China purchased diodes (FR607) may not be responding to the high frequencies, while trying to measure DC volts on high frequency analog multimeter. Should I change these to US made diodes of tr fast recovery in nanoseconds? Meter not going over 15 volts DC on 20khz circuit. I recently noticed their further selling of 20amp diodes of same shape and size as 6 amp type.

Unfortunately, buying anything from China directly as opposed to through a reputable vendor is always risky. Fake components are in the millions.
My advice would be to change the diodes to known good ones and see if your measurements change.

No matter what, you need low current ( a couple hundred mA), fast recovery diodes, (such as Schottky types) to rectify 20kHz signals.
Larger diodes have more junction capacitance which can affect the accuracy of the rectified signal.
