Hi,
I am looking for a vibration sensor which would be suitable for monitoring bearing condition, the only sensors I can see are listed as tilt sensors or switch on shock, any pointers in the right direction?
Thanks,

AFAIK they use piezo transducers and monitor the frequency of the signal to detect vibrations.

Single-axis accelerometers are what we used in our bearing test rigs. Bearing failure, indicated by a sudden increase in vibration amplitude, initiated shutdown of test rig. Most vibration accelerometers use a "proof" mass attached to a piezoelectric crystal to form an accelerometer transducer with excellent high-frequency response. More recent variants use MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology, but the principles are the same: measure the motion of a test or "proof" mass with some sort of position transducer.

Here is a pretty good introduction from a company that has been in the instrumentation and data acquisition business a long time. You might also want to check out the links on this Google search results page.

If you simply Google the phrase, "vibration sensor for bearing monitoring" you'll get all kinds of good info. Bearing condition monitoring is a well-established science/art, and so are the devices and methods for doing it.
