Hi all,
I have MultiSim 2001 Personal.
I have been told be a few folk that it's not great.

I'm interested in Simulation RF circuits tank circuits etc..
Is there a program out there that can do that that is olso with in a Joe
Bloggs budget???

I think the consensus here is that Mike Engelhardt's LTSpice is
certainly the best action for the buck... it's free.

Hey! Jim Thompson finally admits to the supremacy of LT!
Oh happy day! :)

No I didn't! I said "best action for the buck".

As usual, this is where you dont actually take in *exactly* what was
said:)

Bang for the buck means BB = quality/cost.

A cost = 0, makes BB infinite. It does not make something the best
quality, as might be inferred by a claim of "supremacy".

In reality, for many/most projects, the free SuperSpice demo achieves
similar practical BB as LTSpice. This is because, if you use the
schematic hierarchy you can actually use 750 components (30 schematic
blocks * 25 component per block).

SuperSpice, a very affordable Mixed-Mode
Windows Simulator with Schematic Capture,
Waveform Display, FFT's and Filter Design.

See my notes and links to some 60 ECAD programs at
http://www.terrypin.dial.pipex.com/ECADList.html
quite a few of which have simulation facilities.

Yeah, I know what ol' Jim was getting at; I was just pulling his
chain. :)
Seriously, though, the OP was asking about RF-specific simulation, was
he not? In which case Serenade SV might be worth his while to check
out. It's fee and whilst I don't have the URL handy, I'm sure a search
under Serenade SV would bring it up.

Thanks for the links,
LTSpice isn't what I'm after. It doesn't do any UHF RF analysing. I'll check
out Serenade SV and see what it can do.
Cheers,
Xanax.

Yes, if you want a "high-level" simulation then Serenade is surely better
than LTspice.

I thought "analysis" means man-made thinking??? Otherwise we can fire all
the rf engineers... :)
