i'm looking for a book on electronics that explains the subject in
somewhat laymans terms with out all the math and mumbo jumbo.

a book that will break down a circuit and explain each component and
the reason for it in the circuit.

most books on this subject make my head spin and i'm more confused
after reading the book then before.

am i the only one that feels this way?

it's my belief that most of these authors try dazzling the reader with
brillance - but end up baffling them with bullshit. IMO

thanks john

I am currently reading "Tab Electronics Guide to Understanding Electricity
and Electronics" By G. Randy Slone - ISBN: 0-07-136057-3

It is one the most straight forward and basic books I have com across so
far. It does contain some math but he simplifies it to a point where anybody
can understand it.

You should read "Electronic Principles" by Albert Paul Malvino, McGraw Hill.

Very basic with least mathematics.

take a look at the Radio Shack books. Radio Shack has a whole
collection of electronic books.
